ROQ FLOCK
ROQ Flock the flock machine of the XXI Century
ROQ has created the ROQ Flock, a closed flocking station that applies flock using static electricity keeping your shop clean, with automatic application and the best quality
Flock is in the category of what in the screen printing world is called “special effects”. Special effects are some unusual technics applied during the screen printing process that gives the finished product a different look, feeling, and touch. This is a way of increasing dramatically the value of a piece. Some examples of these technics are glitter, the 3D, the foil, and in this specific case the flock.
To flock a piece of clothing is the process of depositing many small fiber particles (called flock) onto a surface. Flocking an article increases its value in terms of tactile sensation, aesthetics, color, and appearance.
The application of flock is done on an adhesive-coated textile surface. This is usually done by the application of a high-voltage electric field. The flock is given the negative charge whilst the substrate is earthed. This makes the flock material drop vertically onto the substrate attaching itself to the previously glued surface.
The majority of flocking done worldwide uses finely cut natural or synthetic fibers. A flocked finish imparts a decorative and/or functional characteristic to the surface.
The traditional method generates enormous amounts of waste. The print shops became the color of the flock being used. And it is also a material harsh to be inhaled. Well, that is until the ROQ Flock came to the market. This is a patented system, by ROQ, that applies Flock with flawless precision and accuracy.
It decreases color contamination, reducing it to insignificant levels, and it makes the Flock application a super clean process.
In the past, this could have been a complicated process. These days with the ROQ Flock it is just another screen in your ROQ screen printing machine. The ROQ Flock is synchronized with the central system of the screen printing machine, and it runs without the need of an operator, saving the labor cost. The operator of the machine just needs to make sure the ROQ Flock does not run out of flock.
